This web site is offered as a resource for those recovering from, or interested in, the illness and withdrawal syndrome caused by prolonged use of ‘benzoes’ - benzodiazepine tranquillisers and sleeping pills. See List of Benzoes.

I have worked on and off over many years as an educator, social researcher and telephone counsellor in the benzo recovery field. This work began as a result of a personal experience of prescribed benzo use and withdrawal which initiated my long journey of learning, training and working in the field.
Will Day’s Benzo Recovery combines my own thoughts and opinions with information I have gathered from various sources over many years.
My perspective on the issues related to benzo use and recovery is not offered as ‘gospel’ but as an informed opinion for you to consider. There are various perspectives out there which differ slightly or substantially from mine, many of them have something to offer and I too am always learning and adjusting.
